Search4stock.ca launched its new Web 2.0 portal

La Prairie - After only three months, M2i3 completed development of the commercial web site Search4Stock.ca. This site uses the most recent Web 2.0 technologies, such as Ruby on Rails and Ajax.
Ruby on Rails is an incredibly powerful tool to develop Web applications. With it, we reduced our development time in half while maintaining a very high quality of software. And Ajax enhances the user experience by providing a rich user interface within web browsers. Google, Digg and Basecamp have successfully used it for some time. For Search4Stock.ca, Ajax manages the lightbox and the shopping cart.” explains Hugues Lamy, Business Development Director at M2i3.

“Using open source code gives us the possibility to deliver high quality software faster than if we had been using proprietary solutions. This is the second time that Search4Stock.ca asked M2i3 to build a commercial site. The first site, launched last March, was very good, but the look and feel of the latest is superior. A better site has a higher visit-to-sales conversion ratio, and we believe that with this improved interface, Search4Stock.ca will sell 5 times more,” he adds.

Search4Stock.ca offers pictures from Canadian and foreign professional photographs. Those pictures are used by newspapers, magazines, books, and publicity agencies for their content creations. The company is located in Sorel-Tracy.

M2i3 uses open source solutions and Agile methodologies to quickly deliver quality software. M2i3 is based in La Prairie on the south shore of Montreal.
